WACMA is a nonprofit organization through which parents and friends can support the music department at Central High School. Our board coordinates volunteer work, raises funds and acts as an advocate for the arts. Membership in the West Allis Central Music Association includes all parents and/or legal guardians of student members of the West Allis Central High School Bands, Choirs and Orchestras. Officers consist of a President, Secretary, Treasure and Parent Representatives and Directors from each musical organization. We welcome your support and invite you to attend board meetings held in the band room, on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. Our next meeting is April 3, 2007 at 6:00 P.M.
Since WACMA began in 1991, the organization has donated over $30,000.00 in scholarships to students for summer music camps, private lessons and to seniors who elect to major in music at an accredited university.
In addition to the scholarships, WACMA has either purchased or contributed towards the purchase of the following items;
Registration and Medal Fees for the WSMA State Solo Ensemble Festival
Financial Assistance for Orchestra, Band and Choir Festival Trips.
Auditorium Curtain Fund
Auditorium sound system
Auditorium lighting system
Purchase of Tuxedos and Tuxedo Dress Shirts.
Purchase of Choir Apparel
Purchase of state of the art computer workstation for the music department
Purchase of state of the art audio/visual system for the music department
